Below are suggested topics for the watches from Sept 26 (Rosh Hashanah) to October 5th (Yom Kippur).  Please apply any of these that are apropo to your region.  These are listed to inspire and help develop a focus for your watch. 

•  Sept. 26  Repentance that leads to transformation in individual and community life
  • 1 John 1:8-9  If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
• Septl 27  Generational engagement and blessing
  • Malachi 4:5-6 Behold I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord.  And he will turn the hearts of the fathers to the children. And the hearts of the children to their fathers. 
  • Mark 9:12  Then He answered and told them, “Indeed, Elijah is coming first and restores all things.”
• Sept. 28  Hunger for God’s Word
  • Deut 8:3  So He humbled you, allowed you to hunger, and fed you with manna which you did not know nor did your fathers know, that He might make you know that man shall not live by bread alone; but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the LORD.
  • John 6: 32-33  Then Jesus said to them, "Most assuredly, I say to you, Moses did not give you the bread from heaven, but My Father gives you the true bread from heaven. For the bread of God is He who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world."
• Sept. 29  Compassion that leads to healing
  • Luke 7:13-15  When the Lord saw her, He had compassion on her and said to her, "Do not weep." Then He came and touched the open coffin, and those who carried him stood still. And He said, "Young man, I say to you, arise." So he who was dead sat up and began to speak. And He presented him to his mother.
• Sept. 30  Restoration of prophetic ministry in the body of Christ
  • 1 Cor 14:1-3  Pursue love, and desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy. For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries. But he who prophesies speaks edification and exhortation and comfort to men.
• Oct. 1  Community life that builds unity
  
  • ​​Acts 2:42-43. And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and prayers.  Then fear came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles.
    
• Oct. 2  Faith to overcome obstacles that obstruct God's love, i.e. offense, lifestyles that hinder spiritual growth
  
  • ​Isaiah 41:3. For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, "Do not fear, I will help you."
    
  • James 1:19-21. So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath; for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God. Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.​
    
• Oct. 3  Fresh encounters with God’s love
  • 1 Cor 13:4-6  Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
• Oct. 4  Being filled with the Holy Spirit
  • Acts 4:31  And when they had prayed, the place in which they were gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and continued to speak the word of God with boldness.

Oct. 5 (Yom Kippur)  

• Obedience leading to Transformation
  • Rom 12:1-2  I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
