From Reprieve to Reset
a word for 2025

Lift up your heads, O you gates!
And be lifted up, you everlasting doors!
And the King of glory shall come in. Psalms 24:7,9
Go through, Go through the gates!
Prepare the way for the people;
Build up, Build up the highway!
Take out the stones,
Lift up a banner for the peoples! Isaiah 62:10

As we enter a new year, 2025, a gateway to transition and change is before us. The tectonic plates of spiritual history are shifting! The world is simmering with threats of war escalating between nations, and the specter of WWIII looms. As such, this gateway into a new year is vital to apprehend as much is hanging in the balance. On a recent journey overseas to a strategic gathering going into Rosh Hashanah (the beginning of the Jewish New Year 5785), I had a vision of a gate and heard the words, "What are you going to paint this gate with?" It was a word that kept repeating itself before and throughout the meetings. Over the course of a few days, I saw "Wisdom" on the left pillar, "Mercy" on the right, and on the bridge of the gate "Restoration." At the end of the meeting, I woke up with the sense of the profound presence of the Lord and heard the word, “I am issuing a reprieve.”
The vision and word have woven its fabric through my spirit since then, particularly post-USA elections. The morning after the elections here in the USA, I sensed the Lord say, “Mercy has triumphed over judgment, and the ‘reprieve’ has been issued.” I have written on the sense of ‘reprieve’ already. Not to repeat myself, but there is something more the Lord is issuing with this ‘reprieve’ as spiritual dynamics are rapidly causing a reset in the natural world. Gates of change are before us. The enemy is out to change the times and the law, manifesting through wars, weaponized legal systems targeting leaders, escalating animosities/wars, hatred between people groups, and interpersonal conflicts, to name a few.
On the other hand, God is out to warn and strengthen us for the times ahead. In the midst of the tumult, He is preparing an end-time people with eyes to see the gates and have the visionary strength to understand and go through them. Wisdom and mercy will co-operate together as God moves to reset and restore His purposes through a "revelationary" force on the earth.

REPRIEVE:
As an overview, in a reprieve, our individual lives, states/regions, and nations are being weighed in the balance. The legal terminology can be described as: A temporary delay of a criminal sentence or a temporary escape from pain or trouble. It (reprieve) does not imply that the sentencing and its legal effects are no longer enforceable. Once the reprieve expires, the criminal sentence will be executed… unless there are legal circumstances that change the initial sentencing.[1] In a reprieve, what we agree with, align with, and do can subsequently determine the trajectory forward and influence any judgments that may ensue. As such, this is a vital time to ponder our ways. God is consecrating His priesthood to realign us with His Word and His purposes. This reprieve will prepare the Church to become the Bride. What we do and believe in will be tested. And what will we be willing to pay for it? Such cleansing and alignment is the essence of a reprieve. Our answers are being weighed in the balance.

NEW GATES/DOORS:
Gates represent many things spiritually, authority and power (Deuteronomy 16:18; Matthew 16:18), security and protection (Psalm 121:8; Zechariah 2:5), and access to God (Psalms 24: 7,9; 100:4; John 10:9). With the shift that is happening, new gates/doors will be opening. God is calling forth a people who will go through these doors as Isaiah declares, Go through, go through the gates! Prepare the way for the people, build up, build up the highway! Gates open pathways of purpose for His Kingdom to advance and, as such, will evoke many battles. Despite that, Isaiah also promises that the Lord of hosts will be a spirit of justice to him who sits in judgment and for strength to those who turn back the battle at the gate, Isaiah 28:6. As the spiritual plates of the nations shift, expect and prepare for change. What God releases may not look like what we expected or even want. In fact, some of the doors we will, in the flesh, want to resist. But, He will release 'Kingdom Keys' that, once recognized and received, will open doors to His panorama of purpose.
In the year 2025/5785, "5" is a number that represents government, i.e., the five-fold ministry, watch for governmental doors to open. Though battles may be great at these doors/gates, look for the keys God is extending, trust Him and His word, and in faith....go through. The keys He gives and the door He opens, no one can shut! Isaiah 22:22.
WISDOM
As we have arrived on the leading edge of a major global shift, a panorama of change is before us. Wisdom will be vital for navigating times as change is underway. It is interesting that “wisdom” was the first word painted on the vision of the gate…highlighting the importance of the word. Gates represent change, a shift from an old way of doing/seeing things to enter a new one. Proverbs says:

It is interesting that “wisdom” was the first word painted on the vision of the gate…highlighting the importance of the word. Gates represent change, a shift from an old way of doing/seeing things to enter a new one. Proverbs says:
Wisdom is the principal thing;
Therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding. Exalt her, and she will promote you; She will bring you honor, when you embrace her. She will place on your head an ornament of grace; A crown of glory she will deliver to you. Proverbs 4:7-9 |
At this gateway of change, wisdom will be vital in directing our steps. Along with wisdom comes understanding, ( Hebrew ḇiynâ). It is the same word used in 1 Chronicles 12:32 describing the sons of Issachar who had "understanding" of the times to know what Israel ought to do. Wisdom will yield the discernment necessary to navigate the course and the necessary decisions ahead. Paul explains:
To me, who am less than the least of all the saints, this grace was given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ….to the intent that now the manifold wisdom of God might be made known by the church to the principalities and powers in the heavenly places, according to the eternal purpose which He accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord, in whom we have boldness and access with confidence through faith in Him. Ephesians 3:8-13
|
When wisdom is in place, we are positioned with Christ in the heavenly places, His purposes and plans become clarified. James said, But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy, Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace for those who make peace, James 3:17-18. When derision, conflict, anxiety, and battle hit, pull back, turn your face towards Jesus, and ask for wisdom. When wisdom is revealed, you will know it. It makes way for peace. He is faithful and will give us what we need.
Solomon asked for wisdom when he became king, Therefore give to Your servant an understanding heart to judge Your people, that I may discern between good and evil. For who is able to judge this great people of Yours?" 1 Kings 3:9. God’s answer was astounding:
Solomon asked for wisdom when he became king, Therefore give to Your servant an understanding heart to judge Your people, that I may discern between good and evil. For who is able to judge this great people of Yours?" 1 Kings 3:9. God’s answer was astounding:
The speech pleased the Lord, that Solomon had asked this thing. Then God said to him: "Because you have asked this thing, and have not asked long life for yourself, nor have asked riches for yourself, nor have asked the life of your enemies, but have asked for yourself understanding to discern justice, behold, I have done according to your words; see, I have given you a wise and understanding heart, so that there has not been anyone like you before you, nor shall any like you arise after you. And I have also given you what you have not asked: both riches and honor, so that there shall not be anyone like you among the kings all your days. So if you walk in My ways, to keep My statutes and My commandments, as your father David walked, then I will lengthen your days." 1 Kings 3:10-14
|
From that simple request, God expanded Solomon’s reign and rule to one of the most historic reigns in Israel. Wisdom is vital in discerning and apprehending the present times as historic shifts are underway.
MERCY
Mercy is often something we can take for granted. One could even say we live in it daily. However, understanding mercy at its foundation leads us to a revelation and understanding of God and sheds light on the depths of its meaning. "Mercy" is first mentioned in Genesis 19:19 in the story of Lot's deliverance out of Sodom and Gomorrah at the time of its destruction. Reading that passage, the word took on a whole new dimension and reality. This first mention of mercy and the circumstances for which it first appears should grip us with a measure of the "fear of the Lord" (see Psalm 111:10; Isaiah 11:1-2). Mercy is not to be taken lightly or for granted.
Mercy is a characteristic of God triggered when His Kingdom has been so defiled that judgment would ensue if it was not for His love, consideration, and care for His creation. Understanding its meaning is heart and core to understanding who God is. James promises, Mercy triumphs over judgment, James 2:13. God uses all sorts of things to work His judgments in the earth. Whether it be natural disasters, drought, earthquakes, or other forms of affliction, judgments are not to be feared, nor are they to evoke finger-pointing, but rather apprehended for their purpose.
Unsanctified mercy can lead us down the path of unholy alliances and play into the enemy’s plan to destroy us and our nations. Unsanctified mercy pulls God’s gift of mercy into an emotional drive that can blind us and separate us from God’s truth. How much of our legislation and political jargon embraces unsanctified mercy but tickles human ears and embroils our emotions? The present ramp-up of anti-semitism is a case in point. Do those retaliating against Israel know the Truth?... God will bless those who bless Israel and curse those who do not, Genesis 12:17. The rise of Marxist ideologies is another illustration today raising an insidious and often unnoticed menace to the freedom for which Christ set us free. It is an ideology that makes people dependent on government rather than God. The cases of unsanctified mercy emerging could go on and on in this hour. Ponder it and pray for the Truth that sets us free to sanctify our thoughts and minds in Christ Jesus.
When judgments hit, the way of the Lord is at hand. Like any parent, He judges those He loves in order to discipline us and realign us with His will. Isaiah prophecies, When Your judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants learn righteousness, Isaiah 26:9. Behind the maneuverings, shakings, and upheavals we will experience and endure is a holy God calling us unto Himself. Such judgments will and must come as a holy God works His plan to awaken His people. On the other side of the judgments will always be His merciful, redeeming hand.

THE RESET and RESTORATION:
When we make ourselves vulnerable to His way, even in seemingly impossible places, He will work through us as “reset” agents of His every plan and purpose. New mantles, doors, and wineskins are opening to those who will press in to discern the times and look beyond what they see in the natural. In response, God will give us His wisdom to respond to the hour. When wisdom and mercy are married, restoration happens. When mercy and truth meet together, mercy is sanctified and the promises spoken of in Psalm 85 can come to pass:

Mercy and truth have met together;
Righteousness and peace have kissed. Truth shall spring out of the earth, And righteousness shall look down from heaven. Yes, the LORD will give what is good; And our land will yield its increase. Righteousness will go before Him, And shall make His footsteps our pathway. Ps 85:10-13 |
Undergirding wisdom and mercy in times of judgment with a healthy fear of the Lord will lend the clarity needed to navigate the reprieve into a full reset. Isaiah sums it up well:
The LORD is exalted, for He dwells on high;
He has filled Zion with justice and righteousness. Wisdom and knowledge will be the stability of your times, And the strength of salvation; The fear of the LORD is His treasure. Is 33:5-6 |
We are privileged to be in a time when God is moving as both Judge and Redeemer across the nations. In the fire of the trials, and needed strength to persevere, the PDF highlights promises from the Scriptures to help us prevail at the gates of this gateway year.
Prayer points:
Action Items: How you can impact the reset!
In times of transition and reprieve, God raises up watchmen.[2] He is moving and raising up an army that will move with Him as He moves as judge and redeemer upon the nations.

- Pray for Godly wisdom for all believers to discern the times with wisdom that comes from the fear of the Lord, Pro 1:7; 4:7; 9:10; 15:33; 33:6; Ecc. 3:1; Luke 19:42.
- Pray for wisdom for our leaders and for their salvation 1 Timothy 2:1-3; Daniel 2:20-22; Isaiah 39 (Hezekiah fell into a trap of showing the King of Babylon the treasuries of Israel).
- Pray for the prodigals and those “falling away,” from biblical values to return to God, 2 Thess 2:3; Mt. 17:11
- Pray against a premature eruption of WWIII but for avenues and solid equipping for the body of Christ's preparedness for the end times. Luke 12:2; Matthew 24:6-7; Eph 6:11

In times of transition and reprieve, God raises up watchmen.[2] He is moving and raising up an army that will move with Him as He moves as judge and redeemer upon the nations.
- Take your position as a Watchman on the wall…very key! Isaiah 52:8
- If you are participating in the Global Watch, ask God how you can invite and mobilize others.
- If you are not actively participating, step in and join with watches building in your region or nation. Your prayers are important.
- Take time to listen to the Lord and meditate on His word daily. The world is filled with distractions that quickly consume our time, focus, and energy. Even good works can pull us away. The consequences of giving in to such distractions cause us to end up down the road dry. Some creative ways of working the Word in your day:
- Listen to the word via mobile phone and ear pods (there are apps available for this) when going about daily activities, or even when you are falling asleep. Nothing better to fill your head with than the Word of God.
- If you don’t know where to pick up in your Bible reading, read the Psalms until the Lord speaks to you.
- Get on a program that takes you through the Bible in a year and do it.
- When God prompts you to step out, do it. Even if it makes you uncomfortable, lean into His Word and promptings and see how He uses you.
- Take communion daily.
