"I am releasing My Apostolic Esthers and the Mordecai Call"
Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for
"God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble."
Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.
1 Peter 5:5-7

As we head into Purim this year, there is a profound shift taking place in the spiritual realm that is beginning to emanate in the natural. Recently, I have heard repeatedly the words, "I am releasing My apostolic Esthers and the Mordecai call." Given the tectonic shifts in spiritual dynamics in the nations reflected in profound negotiations and political shifts, such words require some thought, and I hope they provoke our attention. Now manifesting in the USA, this shift has been marked by not only male but also female leadership being placed in vital places of influence. For example, the list of women leaders in high-level/cabinet positions is growing with notables:
- Attorney General Pam Bondi,
- Department of Homeland Security-Kristi Noem,
- Secretary of Labor: Lori Chavez DeRemer
- Secretary of Agriculture: Brooke Collins
- Director of National Intelligence-Tulsi Gabbard;
- US Ambassador to the UN: Elise Stefanik;
- Secretary of Education; Linda McMahon,
- Press Secretary, Karoline Leavitt.
No matter your opinion, the list of strong women being posted to these positions is remarkable. But more remarkable is their adherence to conservative values and ability to hold the plumbline of righteousness in place. Though brief yet in their exposure in a new administration, it is breathtaking to behold the pendulum swinging…and these modern-day Esthers take their place. On the other side, strong men who have shown an ability to stand for righteous alignments are also being placed into position. There are parallels between what is happening today and what happened in the time of Esther. The enemy has been working to destroy nations, either through war, economic upheavals, overt violence, and, most importantly, values that oppose what God has written in His Word.
In the story of Esther, a plot to annihilate a nation was uncovered. When the deception was unveiled, first to kill a king (Esther 2:19-23) and then to kill the Jews (Esther 3:8-10), a massive turnaround that saved a nation was released. Both Mordecai and Esther were key figures in this turnaround.
Politically, at least here in the USA, a parallel story is unfolding (it may also be beginning in other nations). The USA has been on a trajectory taking it to its last breath. However, God has intervened, with the election and even with an attempt on the life of the presidential forerunner last July. Since the election, it is as if a veil of deception has been ripped off the nation. How? Over the past decade, platforms of high-profile Christian ministries have been exposed for corruption. Most recently, and by far the most influential, is what has happened with IHOPKC. There is no need to point the fingers here, but rather observe the fact that as God cleans the “House of the Lord,” there is a supernatural release of revelation and truth that unveils the eyes of the public, including, like Esther, a new and fresh release of women in leadership. In times of war, trauma, and change, women, like Esther, can naturally bring discernment, strategy, and comfort, while men, like Mordecai, the protection and building for breakthroughs to secure the advance of His Kingdom.
With this supernatural unveiling of deception and the Lord speaking clearly, “I am releasing My Apostolic Esthers and the Mordecai call,” is not only something to pay attention to but allows God to reveal His intentions at this hour. Can we see it? If God is doing it, should we not really consider our thoughts on the subject of women in leadership? If you find this challenging to read, please review these themes directly from the Scriptures. May they encourage us all in these ever-changing times. Let us not resist what God is saying to the church in this hour of much-needed strength.
THE CALL AND CHARACTER OF ESTHER
Here are some reflections from the book of Esther:
- Apostolic Esthers have been prepared in a secret place. In the marination of these places, they have learned wisdom in what to say and to whom, and even more importantly, what not to say. They understand their words and actions carry an influence and impact. As such, they have learned the “reigns of the Lord,” that will guide their thoughts and speech. Rooted in God’s word, the wisdom of the Lord has marinated their spirits with sound discernment and wisdom for the hour.
- Esther listened and knew how to submit in healthy ways to those in authority around her and grew in favor and stance
- Esther 2: 8-9 Esther also was taken to the king's palace, into the care of Hegai the custodian of the women. Now the young woman pleased him, and she obtained his favor.
- Esther 2:10 Esther had not revealed her people or family, for Mordecai had charged her not to reveal it.
- Esther 2:15 Now when the turn came for Esther the daughter of Abihail the uncle of Mordecai, who had taken her as his daughter, to go in to the king, she requested nothing but what Hegai the king's eunuch, the custodian of the women, advised. And Esther obtained favor in the sight of all who saw her.
- Esther 2:18 The king loved Esther more than all the other women, and she obtained grace and favor in his sight more than all the virgins.
- Esther 2:20 Now Esther had not revealed her family and her people, just as Mordecai had charged her, for Esther obeyed the command of Mordecai as when she was brought up by him.
- Esther listened and knew how to submit in healthy ways to those in authority around her and grew in favor and stance
- They are strategic and are guided by the wisdom that yields results.
- Esther 4:5 Then Esther called Hathach, one of the king's eunuchs whom he had appointed to attend her, and she gave him a command concerning Mordecai, to learn what and why this was.
- Esther 5:4-5 And the king said to her, "What do you wish, Queen Esther? What is your request? It shall be given to you—up to half the kingdom!"
So Esther answered, "If it pleases the king, let the king and Haman come today to the banquet that I have prepared for him." - Esther 7:2-4 And on the second day, at the banquet of wine, the king again said to Esther, "What is your petition, Queen Esther? It shall be granted you. And what is your request, up to half the kingdom? It shall be done!" Then Queen Esther answered and said, "If I have found favor in your sight, O king, and if it pleases the king, let my life be given me at my petition, and my people at my request. For we have been sold, my people and I, to be destroyed, to be killed, and to be annihilated. Had we been sold as male and female slaves, I would have held my tongue, although the enemy could never compensate for the king's loss."
- They have learned to face fear in the natural through submission to God and trust in His ways. They are totally sold out to the Lord yet know how to work in their culture with wisdom and understanding!
- She feared God more than man, In the face of a massive challenge, she called on the Lord and mobilized others to join. Esther 4:15 Then Esther told them to reply to Mordecai: "Go, gather all the Jews who are present in Shushan, and fast for me; neither eat nor drink for three days, night or day. My maids and I will fast likewise. And so I will go to the king, which is against the law; and if I perish, I perish!"
- Against cultural norms, she risked her life for what she believed in. Esther 5:7 Then Esther answered and said, "My petition and request is this: If I have found favor in the sight of the king, and if it pleases the king to grant my petition and fulfill my request, then let the king and Haman come to the banquet which I will prepare for them, and tomorrow I will do as the king has said."
- Apostolic Esthers have learned how to make beauty out of ashes in their lives. Tested in hard ways, they have encountered and know the transforming nature of Jesus that will move them beyond the setbacks, losses, failures, and offenses of the past to yield the wisdom and strategy that will reverse the course of demonic pressures and influence. Risking her life to come before the king before being asked, as was the custom, Esther knew the risk, yet stepped forward.
- Esther 5:2 So it was, when the king saw Queen Esther standing in the court, that she found favor in his sight, and the king held out to Esther the golden scepter that was in his hand. Then Esther went near and touched the top of the scepter.
- Apostolic Esthers will be recognized by strong men who are confident in who they are and not threatened by them.
- Esther 5:3 And the king said to her, "What do you wish, Queen Esther? What is your request? It shall be given to you—up to half the kingdom!"
- Esther 8:4-6 And the king held out the golden scepter toward Esther. So Esther arose and stood before the king, and said, "If it pleases the king, and if I have found favor in his sight and the thing seems right to the king and I am pleasing in his eyes, let it be written to revoke the letters devised by Haman, the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, which he wrote to annihilate the Jews who are in all the king's provinces. For how can I endure to see the evil that will come to my people? Or how can I endure to see the destruction of my countrymen?"
Often overlooked in the miraculous story of overcoming in the story of Esther is the role of Mordecai. Esther could not have gone through her God-given destiny alone. God miraculously worked both a man and a woman of different generations together to save a nation. Men, too, need the revelation and character to work with and receive women in leadership.
THE MORDECAI STANCE
Modern-day Mordecai's:
- Stand for moral uprightness and integrity; even at great cost.
- Mordecai stood up against the crowd and the pressures of the day. Esther 3:2 And all the king's servants who were within the king's gate bowed and paid homage to Haman, for so the king had commanded concerning him. But Mordecai would not bow or pay homage.
- Are guided by wisdom, and kindness, and carry a father’s heart
- He had a father’s heart. Esther 2:7 And Mordecai had brought up Hadassah, that is, Esther, his uncle's daughter, for she had neither father nor mother. The young woman was lovely and beautiful. When her father and mother died, Mordecai took her as his own daughter.
- Are not afraid to position themselves with apostolic Esther’s, work with, warn, and advise them.
- Mordecai was faithful to attend to and be concerned for Esther’s well-being. Esther 2:11 And every day Mordecai paced in front of the court of the women’s quarters, to learn of Esther’s welfare and what was happening to her.
- He knew when to enlist Esther’s help. Esther 2:21-23 In those days, while Mordecai sat within the king's gate, two of the king's eunuchs, Bigthan and Teresh, doorkeepers, became furious and sought to lay hands on King Ahasuerus. So the matter became known to Mordecai, who told Queen Esther, and Esther informed the king in Mordecai's name. And when an inquiry was made into the matter, it was confirmed, and both were hanged on the gallows, and it was written in the book of the Chronicles in the presence of the king.
- Mordecai and Esther worked together. Esther 4:5 Then Esther called Hathach, one of the king's eunuchs whom he had appointed to attend her, and she gave him a command concerning Mordecai, to learn what and why this was.
- Mordecai knew and honored Esther’s call and exhorted her to take action. Esther 4:13 And Mordecai told them to answer Esther: "Do not think in your heart that you will escape in the king's palace any more than all the other Jews. For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father's house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?"
- He listened and cooperated with Esther. Esther 4:17 So Mordecai went his way and did according to all that Esther commanded him.
- Esther honored Mordecai. Esther 8:1-2 And Mordecai came before the king, for Esther had told how he was related to her. So the king took off his signet ring, which he had taken from Haman, and gave it to Mordecai; and Esther appointed Mordecai over the house of Haman.
Transformational Impact!
The Impact of the Apostolic Mordecai’s and Esther’s aligning with God, working together, and being recognized is transformational.
- The nation was turned in one day! On one day in all the provinces of King Ahasuerus, on the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, which is the month of Adar. A copy of the document was to be issued as a decree in every province and published for all people, so that the Jews would be ready on that day to avenge themselves on their enemies. Esther 8:12-13
- Divine reversals happen suddenly: Esther 9:1 On the day that the enemies of the Jews had hoped to overpower them, the opposite occurred, in that the Jews themselves overpowered those who hated them.
- The annihilation of enemy forces was complete: Esther 9:13-14 Then Esther said, "If it pleases the king, let it be granted to the Jews who are in Shushan to do again tomorrow according to today's decree, and let Haman's ten sons be hanged on the gallows." So the king commanded this to be done; the decree was issued in Shushan, and they hanged Haman's ten sons.
- The Jews had rest from their enemies: Esther 9:21-22 that they should celebrate yearly the fourteenth and fifteenth days of the month of Adar, as the days on which the Jews had rest from their enemies, as the month which was turned from sorrow to joy for them, and from mourning to a holiday;
- All prospered: Esther 9:22 That they should make them days of feasting and joy, of sending presents to one another and gifts to the poor.
We are living in transformative times. God is raising up transformative people who know how to work together, collaborating with the gifts God has given them to see His Kingdom prosper in ways we have not yet seen. This will require the “unleashing” of the Apostolic Esthers who will multiply, nurture, and help prosper His Kingdom and the Mordecai’s who know how to hold strong and position themselves. We are headed into an Esther Mordecai turnaround season!
